A somewhat overly indulgent lunch for the bf ~ lamb cutlets spiced with lamb herbs and pan-grilled, then served with hash browns.

Busy as a Bee in the Kitchen

As a child, i loved playing "masak masak" (aka make-belief cooking) with my younger brother; i was the chef & he was almost always the waiter of my cosy little eatery (oh yes, he did complain heaps about always being assigned the all-important waiter role!). Our bedroom was the oil & smoke-infused kitchen and our study table, the customer's table. We even had a menu (which included chicken rice, mixed vege stirfry, fried rice etc.) and we took orders with a pen & notebook! Those were such fun childhood days and just thinking back fills my heart with much warmth. After we've all grown older, we play "masak masak" no more, and homecooked food has been replaced by takeway/eat-out food for many years now (back in Singapore, we eat out 3 meals every day). I miss the warmth and love that's overflowing from the brims of homecooked food and hope to rekindle that spark with my simple home cooking! I love to cook for the people i love; it fills me with much joy & happiness when i see them enjoying the food *_* I sincerely hope you'll like the simple dishes I'm sharing with you here in my kitchen today!
